R.I.P. Jose Carrera “NES”
The TRUE ELEMENTS crew sends out their respect and condolences to the family and friends of Jose “NES” Carrera. It’s sad to see yet another miami artist gone. Jose was a talented and successful tattoo artist. Jose Carrera perfected his art in jail. “I made my first tattoo gun using a Bic lighter and a small motor I stripped from an old Walkman cassette player,” he says. “I used the spring inside as the needle and would burn Styrofoam cups to collect the black smoke and mix it with water for my ink.” Carrera had a rough and tough past, but decided to make a change in his life and opened up a tattoo parlor in little havana called “OCHO PLACAS”. He is the artist who worked on one of our crew members ( Hype) full sleeve. He also was a big supporter of our event “TRUE ELEMENTS JAM”. We want to take this time to honor and thank him for his support and his contribution as an artist to the community. REST IN PEACE NES!

To you all in Jose’s life… his family. I know blood runs deep but you all were his family. Daily living truly there in all the episodes. I miss my brother as well as you all. Always remeber his smile, and just like his name. He always made his mark. I am a witness to all of your history. He just moved up in the universe creating his name in the cosmos.
